Elain Ruiz

Elaine Ruiz is second generation from Mexico, her grandmother and great-grandmother were born in Mazatlan in the early 1900's; her grandfather was born in Jalisco.
"My painting began when I was 3 years old, on the front porch of our house...literally. Painting and creating art gives me a satisfaction that is beyond words. It has taken me on many journeys in my life and helped me deal with many disappointments as well."
Currently she enjoys painting on metal, such as ammo boxes, and also creating jewelry. Her style tends toward realistic, but she loves the colors and vibrancy of artists such as Frida, Gauguin, Van Gogh and Rivera. Her dream: "I would love to paint more murals and spend my time just laying out on a beach in Mexico."
