I was born in a small town in Oaxaca Mex., and then migrated to the United States when I was four years old. Crossing the border at such a young age would bring repercussions later in my adult years. I first encounter painting at age 15, after meeting an artist working in the streets. He took me as his pupil after my great interest in art. It can be said my work is personal. Not personal in the way that I feel attach to it. Most of my works are meant for me to let go. They are people, places, things that once were important to me. Bringing them back to life in a two-dimensional way is a reflective process to learn from my past and appreciate my present and see where I’m heading. I have resided in CA for over 20 years, yet I have never felt a citizen of any country, Art has been my only place I can call home and take refuge while contemplating life.
