Lupita Shahbazi

Picture
As a child, Lupita was infamous for cutting images out of her mothers magazines. Now she cuts out fragments of fabric, paper, books, and magazines that catch her eye during outings.
Inspired by a move into a new home, and a new creative space, Lupita's painting routine was interupted by her collecting hobby and a new experiementation with cut out images and shapes. She allowed her dreams to intuitively come together in her distinct airy compositions, incoorporating angels, birds, religious icons, and the color blue.
Through her pieces, her love for life, an intense spirituality, and her love of nature come to play a part in the stories woven in part by found objects. She currently resides in Chula Vista where she has her studio, Estudio Azul Solamente, and she makes time for exhibiting throughout the US and Mexico. She has taught childrens art for over 15 years and is active in her local art community. www.estudioazulsolamente.com
